What Is The Toto MS604114CEFG-01 Ultramax II Toilet?

The Toto Ultramax II is a sleek high profile one piece toilet ideal for installation both at home and in commercial outlets. This model uses Toto’s Double Cyclone Technology to offer a powerful but quiet flush every time.

The Ultramax II is crafted from vitreous china. It also has Toto’s SanaGloss polish to give it a super smooth appearance that is easy to keep clean. Its inner walls have an ion glaze that minimizes bacteria and microbes buildup besides boosting the toilet’s Double Cyclone flush action.

Powerful And Quiet Flush Every Time

Perhaps the best Toto toilet to compare the Ultramax II with is the original Toto MS854114S 01 Ultramax. Despite having been around for quite some time now, the older model still boasts a good following undoubtedly because of its G-max flushing system which is considered the industry benchmark. This version also comes in a variety of colors and it’s also somewhat cheaper than the Ultramax II.

Unfortunately, the Ultramax uses 1.6 GPF, and it’s, therefore, not a WaterSense compliant. This means that it may not be legally available in some States such as California that require all toilets to use 1.28 gallons per flush.

What’s In The Box?

Toto Ultramax II MS604114CEFG-01 Features

Reliable Flush Action Performance

I always prefer starting with how a toilet flushes away your ‘volcanic whoopies’ since it’s the center of everything else. The Ultramax II is a gravity assisted toilet. However, unlike the conventional models, this one has a 3-inch flush valve which is far larger than the typical 2-inch pipes in most low end toilets.

This ultra large valve is then boosted by Toto’s Double Cyclone technology. The Double Cyclone flushing system combines the force of gravity and centrifugal force to push water with a pressure of at least 8 psi through two nozzles.

This water has enough force to push all solid wastes down the drain successfully and clean the bowl as it flushes. This takes us to the next selling point.

WaterSense Certified

The Double Cyclone technology and the ultra large flush valve combine with a 2-1/8’’ trap diameter to ensure that 1.28 gallons are all you need for a successful flush.

What’s More?

The Toto MS604114CEFG 01 also features a smooth glaze that ensures that all waste is sucked in without leaving unsightly debris clinging to the trapway. This is a nice feature since you won’t be scrubbing the interiors and making subsequent re-flushes after each use.

Mind you, you could also get rebates of up to 100 dollars on your water bills if you live in districts and counties that give such offers for installing High Efficiency Toilets. Some of these include Acton, Alameda, Sonoma, and San Diego.

One Piece Ready To Install

Not all Toto toilets come ready to install. Some of them, for instance, the CST744SL-01 Drake do not ship with the seat. This might you cost you another trip to the store. It also means parting with several bucks that you had not planned for.

That’s why the SoftClose seat with the Ultramax II requires a special mention here. This fixture comes with both the seat and the cover fitted. They are attached to the toilet using a hinge mechanism that offers some resistance when the seat is slammed down. This mechanism is great especially for a home with several kids who enjoy banging the seat down.

Easy To Install

This is yet another good reason why you might want to go with the Ultramax II. Since this is a one piece unit, the installation process might be relatively easier than when installing a 2 piece fixture. However, do note that 1-piece commodes are slightly bulkier. So, you might require a hand when positioning it.

It’s also worth mentioning that the installation supplies – nuts and wax ring- are not included in the package. So, you might want to order them alongside the commode.

Ease Of Cleaning

The Ultramax II has several aspects that contribute to its ease of cleaning. To begin with, the Double Cyclone flushing technology not only clears your waste in one flush but also cleans the bowl as it flushes.

Again, this toilet’s interiors have a SanaGloss finish that prevents the solid waste from sticking to the sides. This finish also prevents stains and bacteria from building up. These features mean that your toilet will stay cleaner for longer. They also minimize the need for regular hard-scrubbing.

It’s ADA Compliant

Last but not the least, the Toto MS604114CEFG#01 is ADA compliant. With a seat height of 17-1/4’’, this toilet might be comfortable for most users in your family. For the kids, however, you might consider purchasing a step to help them climb up and down with relative ease.

Is The Toto Ultramax II The Best Toilet For Your Bathroom?

Being a WaterSense-certified model, the Toto MS604114EFG 01 Ultramax II might be a good option for people who live in States that only approve High Efficient Toilets. Its 1.28 GPF rating also makes it an ideal choice for anyone who is serious about cutting water bills.

Ideal Choice For Reducing Water Bills

Again, its high profile design renders it nicely to anyone looking for a sleek commode for a new or revamped bathroom.

What I have not told you so far is that there isn’t a round bowl version of the Ultramax II as it’s usually the case with other Toto toilets. So, in case this elongated model is bulky for your space starved bathroom, you might be forced to go with something else like the Toto C743E-01.

This is a low consumption, WaterSense certified model that uses Toto’s E-max flushing technology. It’s available in different hues and will also cost you less. Unfortunately, it is not ADA compliant and does not come with the seat.

What Features Make A Great Toilet?

If you are not sure how to get to the best throne for your home, here are a few things to keep in mind.

Standard vs. Comfort Height Toilets

Standard Height toilets measure around 15’’ from the floor to the top of the seat. You might want to go for these models if you are short or if you have constipation problems.

Scientists recommend a 15 inch high toilet to people with constipation problems since it lets you sit in a squat-like position which helps in bowel movements.

On the other hand, comfort height fixtures are up to 17’’ tall. A toilet with this height might be a good option for you if you are arthritic or experience pains standing up from a standard-height throne. They are also ideal for tall people and the elderly.

Long Elongated vs. Round Toilets

If your bathroom lacks in space, a round bowl fixture might be a good bet since it won’t be blocking doors or put you in awkward positions. It’s also a good choice for a home with kids due to its small opening.

However, elongated toilets are known to be much more comfortable for adults. You might want to go with this type for your master bedroom.

Conclusion

The Toto Ultramax II toilet has several eye-catching features that prove it worth going for. I find it quite impressive that it is both WaterSense-certified and ADA compliant. In my opinion (and most homeowners’), these are the two most important must-haves for a great toilet.

The Double Cyclone Technology coupled with the ultra wide flush valve and trapway also make it a really good flusher besides making it easy for you to keep it clean.
