1. Toto CST454CEFG#01 Drake II – Editor’s Choice

Toto CST454CEFG#01 2 Piece Toilet

High Efficient Toilet

The CST454CEFG-01 [link to a more in depth review] is yet another highly valued toilet on the market today. You might want to go with this one if you are looking for an affordable Toto toilet with the coveted double cyclone flushing performance.

4 colors

This toilet has a simple yet beautiful design and offers a choice of 4 colors: Sedona beige, cotton white, colonial white, and bone.

1.28 gallons per flush

It uses 1.28 gallons per flush and might be a sensible choice for those who are after a high efficient toilet. Its low water consumption does not necessarily mean a poor performance whatsoever.

quiet flushes

As previous homeowners affirm, the CST454CEFG has powerful and assuring quiet flushes. It’s very unlikely that you’ll need to pull the lever after the first attempt.

2. Toto MS604114CEFG#01 Ultramax II Het – Premium Pick

Toto MS604114CEFG#01 Ultramax II Het

Best One Piece Design

The MS604114CEFG-01 [link to a more in depth review] costs a pretty penny compared to the CST744SL above. But that’s because you are looking at something totally different.

The major advantage that you get here is the one piece design. Besides being somewhat futuristic than a 2 piece unit, this one piece toilet is way easier to clean since it does not have a crevice between the 2 components.

Importantly, you are assured that the crapper will ship in one complete pack rather than getting the 2 pieces on different dates.

On this note, you might be impressed by the fact that the MS604114CEFG ships with a softclose seat installed. So, contrary to the CST744SL above, you won’t be making additional purchases here.

1.28 GPF flush rate

Again, this is a WaterSense-labeled model and could save you a little bit more water thanks to its 1.28 GPF flush rate. Its double cyclone flushing technology is among the best flushing systems you could ask for too.

3. Toto CST744SL-01 Drake – Budget Buy

Toto CST744SL-01 Drake Toilet

Excellent Flushing Performance

The Toto CST744SL-01 [link to a more in depth review] has been the go-to Toto toilet for most homeowners since it debuted. Its amazingly low price makes it a great choice for homeowners on a shoestring budget. It might also be your solution if you wish to purchase several toilets at once.

G-max flushing system

One thing that stands out in this toilet’s reviews section is its excellent flushing performance. But that’s not surprising considering that it uses the G-max flushing system which is currently Toto’s best.

Pressure of up to 8 psi

The CST744SL features a 3-inch flush valve that pushes out water with a pressure of up to 8 psi. This pressure combined with the wide trap offers precise flushes each time.

Again, this is an ADA-compliant commode with an elongated bowl and comfort height. It’s a low-consumption model as well thanks to its 1.6 GPF rate.

4. Toto CST412MF.10-01 Aquia – Ideal  For Compact Bathrooms

Toto CST412MF.10-01 Aquia Dual Flush Toilet

Optimum Comfort

The Toto CST412MF.10-01 is perhaps what you need if you are looking for a replacement toilet with a 10-inch rough. This toilet might be a good bet if you want to renovate an old bathroom without ripping your floor.

It could also be an ideal choice for compact bathrooms with minimal length space. One aspect that stands out in the reviews is its ease of installation. It ships with detailed step-to-step instructions and the base has been designed to offer you an easy time.

1.6 GPF and 0.9 GPF flush rates

This toilet has an elongated bowl for optimum comforts, and it’s a good flusher thanks to the dual-max flushing system. It might not be as highly efficient as the CST454CEFG above. But it still does a good job of slashing your water bills thanks to its dual flush mechanism and 1.6 GPF and 0.9 GPF flush rates.

As a side note, this toilet does not ship with the seat.

5. Toto CST412MF.01 Aquia – Excellent Design

Toto CST412MF.01 Aquia with Elongated Bowl

Universal Height Design

This is the 12 inch version of the CST412MF above. The main benefit that you get from a toilet with this rough-in is that it’s easily available compared to other rough-ins. This means that it’s super easy to find a replacement for it.

The CST412MF.01 brings you an elongated bowl and a universal height design. We do like that it is skirted. As such, there are no weird grooves or hard-to-reach areas to accumulate dirt.

It has several flaws though.

This toilet has been met with lots of complaints ranging from poor, difficult installation to poor flushes. So, if the 10 inch rough in toilet version won’t fit in your bathroom, we recommend you to go for another toilet in this list as we wait for Toto to rectify these flaws.

Which Is The Best TOTO Toilet? – Final Verdict

Editor’s Choice

After a thorough comparison of all the above models, our best pick here is none other than the TOTO CST454CEFG#01 Drake II  2 Piece Ada Toilet with SanaGloss. Unmatched performance, durability, the attention to detail, reliability along with the good price makes it our choice.

Runner Up

Our second choice is TOTO MS604114CEFG#01 Ultramax II, but the high price is stopping it from being a clean (pun intended) winner.

Most homeowners have been stoked by its powerful bowl-cleaning flushes thanks to the double cyclone flushing technology and the sanagloss finish.

It also has a universal height and elongated bowl for maximum comfort. Importantly, this is a one piece toilet. It might give your small bathroom a spacious look as well.

Toto Toilets Buying Guide

Toto’s Best Feature

The best answer to this question would be INNOVATION. Since its founding in 1917, Toto has been known for its great strides in bathroom technology. This manufacturer seems to be curious about just how far the toilet can evolve.

Among other great features that Toto has added to the conventional toilet include the bidet. This is a wand that sprays temperature-regulated water to your anatomy.

According to Jason Fitzsimmons, Vice President of TOTO USA, bidets bring a perfect balance of technology and hygiene. Our article of the best bidet seats offers more insight into this arena.

TOTO toilets are also world-renowned for their water efficiency and excellent performance. This manufacturer has brought a major overhaul on the flushing systems and trapways through the use of larger flush valves and computer designed trapways.

The main idea has been to minimize the water used per flush while eliminating the dreaded clogs.

Benefits

The major benefit that you get from a Toto toilet is convenience. As you might have found from our reviews and previous buyers’ reports, Toto toilets aim at solving several challenges that are common in most bathrooms today.

Take clogging, for instance. Most Toto Toilets including the Toto CST454CEFG are designed with wider trapways and valves that aim at minimizing clogging.

Toto toilets also use powerful flushing systems including the G-max, double cyclone, cyclone, and tornado all which have been found to offer awesome performances.

Toto Toilets Problems

Every toilet brand has its challenges including Toto. One of the major problems that plague Toto toilets is faulty flappers. Most of them tend to wear out fast.

A worn out flapper could make it hard for your toilet to flush. It could also hike your water bills. Luckily, this is a problem that you can fix if you know how to replace your Toto toilet flapper.

Most homeowners also complain about brown matter sticking to the walls of the bowl. On this note, it’s important to understand that not all Toto toilets feature the SanaGloss surface.

For instance, the Toto CST744SL and the CST744SG are pretty much similar. The only difference is that the latter has sanagloss surface. As such, its bowl might tend to clean faster than that of the CST744SL.

How Do You Get A Good Toto Toilet?

Toto toilets are easy to find. You only need to know what you want. For instance, do you want a 2 piece or 1 piece toilet? How much water do you want to save? What is your budget? Are you looking for a model with advanced features such as warm seat?

Previous customer reviews and feedbacks offer invaluable information about the performance of each toilet. So, don’t ignore them. You might find our best toilet buying guide useful if you are not sure about what features to consider and what to avoid.

Toto Toilets Price

Well, the price of Toto toilets is relative. It depends on the features and style. The ballpark figure for the basic Toto one piece toilets without bells and whistles is around $250. 2 piece toilets are slightly pricier than this.

If you are looking for a toilet that greets you and lifts the lid for you, then be prepared to shed upwards of $2,000.

In our experience with Toto toilets, however, we’ve found $300-$500 to be a sweet spot for the average joe.
